Building a new face for Digital Oxford – can you help?

Tonight the Digital Oxford Website Working Group met to figure out how to get going on a new brand and website for Digital Oxford.

Digital Oxford is in the process of reforming as a Community Interest Company, with a mission to instil pride in the digital industry here.  As an industry and community run organisation we thought that we should come together as a community to build a new brand and site for Digital Oxford.

What we’ve done so far

Our fledging working group of volunteers from agencies in Oxford continued our fast progress tonight.  Here’s what we’ve done:

  • Written a high level requirements document setting out what we want to achieve
  • Decided on a technology platform (WordPress, and WPJobboard)
  • Made a start on a direction for the brand (more details later)
  • Created personas to help us focus on who to target (more details later)

Our practical session worked so well we’re going to do it again in 2 weeks. We will divide into 3 work streams and work together for 1.5 hours to take practical steps forward.  The work streams are:

  • Brand and design (Lead: Sarah Plant)
  • Content (Lead: Ned Wells)
  • Web build (Lead: Henry Blyth)

Get involved!

If you’d like to get involved and think you can spare a couple of week day nights a week, join our website working group.

In particular we’re looking for WordPress experts to join our group.

To come along to the next session on Tuesday 14 October at 6:30pm sign-up here.
